Zynga Poker – The New Healer

About a week ago I woke up and felt like my body was telling me “Mister,  I’m not going to play ball with you today…”. I tried to get ready for work but an hour after dispatching the kids, I made a clever U-turn and plunged uselessly into bed.

Acute Tonsillitis. That was the Doctor’s Diagnosis.

Whatever you say Doc…But can you give me something that will turn off the heat my body is generating, and that fireball in my throat?!

During the many hours in bed, I got a chance to catch up with some friends I haven’t spoken to in a while. One of them is Ruth. A lovely woman who’s been very helpful  for us in testing and improving PokerBuddy Pro.

Happy New Year, and lots of luck and fun in 2011.

Yours truly

In order to succeed with this maneuver you need to have two distinct abilities we’ve discussed in the past, the ability to put your opponent on a hand or a short range of hands, and establishing an image of yourself a tight player during the. The latter can be achieved quite easily, by spending the early part of the evening playing selective hands only, and once in a while showing your opponent your monster hole cards, letting him now that you actually hit big.

Add some courage, spice it up with a bit of semi poker bluffing,  and you’re going to use your tight table image and turn it into an aggressive weapon.

Connecting the Dots

In this post I would like to address an issue that been buzzing around in my head for the past couple of weeks. It has some psychological aspects, it is directly related to the skill set you acquire as a poker player, and the competence you develop in observing other players’ behavior.

Here is my thesis: Most of the collisions or complicated situations you encounter during your game are solvable, in a manner that will turn you into a profitable player, if only you’ll be able to connect the dots.

Sounds simple doesn’t it? But trust me on that one, “connecting the dots” is an elusive virtue, but once mastered it can turn you from a good player into an excellent player.

OK – so what’s in God’s name do I mean by connecting the dots?
